A rapidly growing manufacturing company is expanding its strategic sourcing function to support significant growth in the U.S. market. The Role

The Strategic Sourcing Lead will act as a subject matter expert (SME) within assigned commodity categories, playing a key role in developing sourcing strategies that directly impact profitability and operational success. This position offers visibility, ownership, and the chance to influence corporate sourcing strategy in a high-growth environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commodity Leadership: Develop and execute sourcing strategies across assigned categories such as steel, aluminum, MRO, fasteners (nuts, bolts, gaskets), castings, and manifolds.

  • Supplier Management: Identify, qualify, and manage supplier relationships; lead negotiations, contracts, and performance reviews.

  • Strategic Alignment: Partner with buyers and cross-functional teams to align supplier selection and execution with corporate sourcing strategies.

  • Cost & Risk Management: Drive cost-saving initiatives, use indexed pricing models, and implement risk-mitigation strategies.

  • KPI & Metrics Development: Establish and monitor key performance indicators to measure sourcing success.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with operations, engineering, finance, and quality teams across multiple sites.

  • Travel: Engage suppliers and visit plants (up to 40% travel required).


Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.

  • 5–7+ years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience in manufacturing or industrial sectors.

  • Strong background in supplier negotiations, cost modeling, and commodity strategy.

  • Ability to influence across multiple sites without direct authority.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.

  • Professional certifications (CPSM, CIPS, APICS) preferred.
