Job Description
Overview:
TalentBridge is partnered with a global automation solutions provider seeking an Applications Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys concept development, system design, and bringing creative automation ideas to life.
As an Applications Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of designing custom automated systems - integrating mechanical, controls, and robotic technologies to deliver innovative, high-performance solutions for manufacturing clients. You’ll collaborate directly with customers and internal engineering teams to develop layouts, evaluate feasibility, and translate ideas into engineered concepts that solve real production challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the concept design and technical development of custom automation solutions tailored to client requirements.
- Create 2D and 3D system layouts using AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks to illustrate equipment configurations and workflow optimization.
- Partner with sales and engineering teams to define project scope, functionality, and technical specifications.
- Conduct feasibility and performance analyses, including throughput simulation and system validation.
- Evaluate design trade-offs, component selection, and integration strategies to ensure optimal performance and cost efficiency.
- Present technical concepts and recommendations to both internal teams and customers, supporting proposals with clear engineering rationale.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, controls, and software engineers to refine and finalize system designs.
- Stay current on emerging automation technologies and contribute to continuous improvement of design standards and solution strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
- 3+ years of experience in automation design, systems integration, or custom equipment engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, or SolidWorks.
- Strong understanding of industrial automation, robotics, and material handling concepts.
- Proven ability to conceptualize, model, and communicate complex automation systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines.
- Hands-on, solution-oriented mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous learning.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (10–20%), including internationally.
