Compliance Specialist 

Location: 6314 Fly Road, East Syracuse, NY 13057
Pay: $19/hour (W2)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Duration: 7-month contract (with potential to convert to full-time)

About the Role

We are seeking a Compliance Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for processing customer-mandated background checks, Motor Vehicle Reports (MVRs), and drug screens for contract carrier applicants and their employees. You’ll also review and evaluate the results to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards. This role is vital in maintaining our compliance standards and supporting the success of Last Mile operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Review applicant background check and drug test authorization forms for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with FCRA regulations.

• Obtain missing or corrected documents from Operations Managers when necessary.

• Accurately place orders for background checks and MVRs through vendor systems.

• Manage annual renewals of background checks and MVRs for all contract carriers and their driver/helper employees.

• Review results of background checks, MVRs, and drug screens to determine pass/fail status using company and insurance vendor criteria.

• Communicate final results to Operations Managers via the Contract Logix program.

• Support badge generation and maintain compliance records across multiple systems.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Business Administration (or equivalent experience).

• Basic knowledge of and experience with Windows and Microsoft Office applications.

• Strong data entry skills with attention to accuracy and detail.

• Ability to input, review, and retrieve information quickly and effectively.

• Flexible availability to work additional hours when needed (including evenings and weekends).
